Composting box action

Updated: Mar 10, 2020

The departemental cities community of the region has recently come up with an interesting approach towards recycling of bio-rests and offers a subvention for every compost box bought. It is also provided with a kitchen bucket and an information brochure on what goes into the binand what does not.

This initiative has shown quite interest by local inhabitants and almost all our neighbours have ordered one of the following wooden boxes. 400 liters is quite big, I wished we could have had the possibility to order some more, but the number is unfortunately limited. Still, the collectivity takes 60% if its costs and raise awareness on recycling intelligently.

This is just exemplary!

Here is an extract of their online brochure: "Composting is a 100% natural process for transforming organic waste by soil microorganisms (microscopic fungi, bacteria) in the presence of water and oxygen. After a few months, the compost obtained is comparable to humus. With a significant fertilizing power, it can be used as a mixture as an organic amendment or as a growing medium."
