Gardening in Perma-Zones

Gardens have a variety of shapes, purposes, and functions. The permaculture principles do not force you to use a particular type of garden, nor do they require a generic design. Permaculture is just trying to make your life easier, focus on you, and keep everything you need as close as possible. It is therefore created with zones from "0" in the middle to "5" in the overall structure.

Zone 0 is the heart of life, the house, the people and direct access to Zone 1.

Zone 1 consists of two parts: the small herb garden at the front of the house, which is accessible through the kitchen door, and the plants at the back of the house, where the firewood is also kept.

Zone 2 is a larger zone consisting of 6 small terraces on which there are fruit trees, a greenhouse, climbing fruits, grapes and of course a vegetable garden.

Zone 3 is almost outside the most used zones. The southern area is mainly used as an orchard. In addition, the land of three neighbors border on it.

The 5 zones each contain a different activity area, e.g. composting, mulching, recycling, camping or the green areas (chickens and cattle).

Zones 4 and 5 are wild forest slopes. The use of this natural space is still being planned and is in no hurry. A tree house and mushroom cultivation have been considered.
